Do what you love and Love what you do

Most people won’t read this article till the end cause of its title. As most will say it’s overrated and it has been talked about so much or we know already what love is blah blah. But do you real know though?

I won’t be writing about love between people. That’s old, boring and you don’t get anywhere with such topics because they revolve and as Kermit the frog would say it’s none of my business ☺

“Do what you love and Love what you do” that’s the kind of love I am proclaiming today.

The common thing about love for anyone or anything is that its kind, patient and
It does not envy, it does not boast,
It is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. It is not jealous

All the above should be called the entrepreneurs characteristics ☺ .

Confucius said ~ “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”

Most successful leaders did not do what they had to do, but they did what they loved that’s why they are successful today. They left comfort zones, some even left high paying jobs to pursue happiness and passion.

Les Brown a motivational speaker & author - former cleaner and politician mentioned in one of his talks that “Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears. Life has no limitations, except the ones you make.

Love takes action. If you love anything you do, be it a dream or vision, you will act on it.

Maya Angelou who said “…pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” She did exactly that, we couldn’t keep our eyes from her ..

Since I am on this platform I will use our very own leader & mentor Dj Sbu –Sbusiso Leope as an example isn’t it evident that he loves what he is doing even though he says it himself? I won’t mention all the things his doing that’s an article for another day or you can Google him.  

Numerous studies have shown that happy people tend to earn more  and it stands to reason that these high-earners are happy at least in part because they doing what they love.

Here are some of the benefits you get when you do what you love-

1. You feel more fulfilled
2. You more productive,
3. You more motivated,
4. You become a source of motivation to others
5. Your family and peers look up to you
6. Your mental health improves
7. You want to keep learning and improving
8. You’re a more effective leader,
9. You’re excited to tackle new challenges,
10. Your work doesn't feel like a chore,
11. You can serve others better,
12. You push yourself to succeed even more.

With that said Are you doing what you love or what you have to?
